The 2017 Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo DOCG Romirasco is a flagship single-vineyard Barolo from the historic Bussia cru in Monforte d’Alba, crafted from 100% Nebbiolo and representing one of the estate’s most powerful and age-worthy expressions. Sourced from old vines (around 50+ years), it reflects a traditional style with long aging in large oak casks, delivering depth, structure and complexity. The nose is intense and layered, showing notes of dark cherry, blackberry and blood orange, alongside rose petal, leather, truffle and savoury herbs.
On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm, grippy tannins and a robust, structured profile. Flavours of dark fruit, spice and earthy minerality are supported by a powerful backbone, leading to a long, complex and persistent finish. The style is bold and authoritative, combining richness with precision and classic Barolo tension.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a serious collector’s Barolo and one of the most structured wines in the Conterno range. It’s not for early drinking—best cellared to allow the tannins to soften and complexity to develop. Drink from 2027 onwards or cellar for 15–20+ years. Ideal with truffle dishes, braised meats or aged cheeses.
