The 2015 Stanton & Killeen Vintage Fortified is a beautifully crafted Rutherglen fortified wine inspired by the great Vintage Ports of Portugal. Produced from a blend of Portuguese varieties including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão, alongside traditional Australian varieties, it is matured in oak before bottling to preserve its vibrant fruit and provide outstanding cellaring potential. This modern style is drier and more elegant than traditional Australian fortifieds while retaining impressive richness and depth.
The nose reveals aromas of black plum, blackberry and mulberry layered with anise, dark chocolate and warming spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with concentrated dark berry fruit supported by fine tannins, balanced sweetness and beautifully integrated spirit. Notes of cloves, sarsaparilla and cocoa emerge through a long, velvety finish with remarkable freshness and structure.
