The 2011 Château Lassègue is a beautifully matured Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux, France, produced from vineyards on the limestone and clay slopes of Saint-Émilion's southern hillside. Predominantly Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2011 vintage offers inviting aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum and dark cherry, layered with cedar, graphite, dried herbs, tobacco and subtle baking spice. After years of bottle ageing, the wine displays impressive harmony while retaining the structure that defines this historic Right Bank estate.

On the palate, it is full-bodied with silky, well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity that provides freshness through the finish. Flavours of cassis, blackberry and black cherry are complemented by notes of cocoa, leather, cedar and earthy minerality, leading to a long, savoury finish with refined oak influence. The maturity of the vintage has softened the wine's youthful firmness, revealing greater complexity while preserving its depth and structure.

Ben's Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for customers looking to enjoy a mature Saint-Émilion Grand Cru with classic Right Bank character and layered complexity. It pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, braised short ribs or aged hard cheeses. The wine is drinking well now after 60–90 minutes of decanting and will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 5–8 years under proper cellaring conditions.
