TWO PADDOCKS
Two Paddocks is a boutique winery located in Central Otago, New Zealand, one of the world’s most celebrated regions for Pinot Noir. The winery was founded by internationally acclaimed actor Sam Neill in the early 1990s, with a vision to produce expressive, terroir-driven wines that reflect the unique character of Central Otago.
The vineyards are planted across several sites in Gibbston, Bannockburn, and Alexandra, areas known for their high altitude, cool climate, and schist-rich soils. These conditions are ideal for growing Pinot Noir, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining vibrant acidity and aromatic intensity.
Two Paddocks is best known for its organic Pinot Noir, which typically shows aromas of red cherry, wild berries, violet, and subtle spice, with silky tannins and elegant structure. The winery produces a small range of wines, including Picnic Pinot Noir, Estate Pinot Noir, and single-vineyard expressions, each highlighting different aspects of Central Otago’s terroir.
Today, Two Paddocks wines are widely regarded as some of the most distinctive and characterful examples of Central Otago Pinot Noir, combining purity of fruit, elegance, and a strong sense of place.
