The 2021 Suertes del Marqués La Solana is a beautifully savoury and mineral-driven red from the volcanic slopes of Tenerife’s Valle de la Orotava. Crafted predominantly from Listán Negro grown on steep old-vine parcels trained in the traditional cordón trenzado system, the wine captures the tension, freshness and earthy complexity that define the best Canary Islands wines. The nose reveals wild raspberry, red cherry and cranberry layered alongside dried herbs, black pepper, smoky volcanic notes and subtle floral lift, giving the wine remarkable energy and site expression.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with fine tannins, bright natural acidity and a distinctly mineral core. Layers of red berry fruit, savoury spice and gentle smoky complexity are balanced by saline freshness and earthy depth, finishing vibrant, textured and finely detailed with excellent persistence and balance.
