Stewart & Prentice is a boutique Australian sparkling wine label founded through the collaboration of two highly respected Gippsland winemakers, Mal Stewart and Neil Prentice. Combining decades of experience in traditional method sparkling wine production, the partnership has built a reputation for producing elegant, small-batch wines that showcase the exceptional quality of Victoria's cool-climate vineyards.

Mal Stewart has specialised in Méthode Champenoise production since the 1990s, having worked extensively in Macedon Ranges before establishing his own sparkling wine facility in Drouin, Gippsland. Neil Prentice, founder of Moondarra Wines, brings decades of experience as both a winemaker and viticulturist, with a philosophy centred on expressing vineyard character and regional identity. Together, their complementary approaches combine technical precision with creative winemaking.

The fruit is sourced primarily from Gippsland, with selected parcels from neighbouring cool-climate regions when conditions are favourable. These vineyards benefit from long growing seasons, cool temperatures, and excellent natural acidity, creating ideal conditions for premium sparkling wine production.

Stewart & Prentice specialises in traditional method sparkling wines crafted from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, alongside limited releases including Blanc de Blancs and Pétillant Naturel Prosecco. The wines display aromas of green apple, pear, citrus, white flowers, brioche, and toasted nuts, supported by fine mousse, vibrant acidity, and exceptional freshness. Their elegant style reflects both the cool-climate fruit and the meticulous attention given to every stage of production.

The philosophy of Stewart & Prentice centres on producing pristine, balanced wines that faithfully express both fruit purity and regional character. Traditional bottle fermentation, extended lees ageing, and careful blending contribute complexity while preserving finesse and precision.
