The first historic single malt from the Isle of Harris Distillery, The Hearach is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels with Oloroso and Fino sherry butts. Lightly peated and bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or artificial colouring, it combines orchard fruit, creamy sweetness and gentle smoke with a distinctly maritime character.
Clean oak and peat smoke mingle with toasted malt, heather and dried prunes. Green apple, vanilla and candied ginger follow, accompanied by honeycomb, mixed spices and delicate floral notes.
Creamy and gently sweet, with crème brûlée, apple sauce and sharp green apple balanced by toasted cereal, soft peat and warming spice. A light coastal salinity brings freshness and definition.
