The 2023 Domaine Antoine Jobard Bourgogne Rouge is a beautifully pure and finely detailed Pinot Noir from one of Meursault’s most respected domaines. Sourced from several lieux-dits below Pommard including L’Aumônne, Taupe Maison Dieu, En la Taupe and Les Crenilles, the wine reflects Antoine Jobard’s increasingly refined approach to red Burgundy, focusing on perfume, freshness and finesse rather than extraction or heavy oak influence. The nose reveals wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry layered alongside violet, subtle spice and delicate earthy notes, giving the wine impressive lift and charm.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant natural acidity and a finely etched mineral core. Layers of bright red berry fruit, gentle savoury spice and subtle whole-cluster complexity are balanced by freshness and supple texture, finishing long, poised and beautifully persistent with excellent drinkability and finesse. Gentle extraction, restrained use of new oak and élevage in larger-format barrels preserve the wine’s transparency and purity while adding subtle structure and depth.
