The 2023 Benoît Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Cardeuse Rouge is a beautifully refined and increasingly sought-after Premier Cru Burgundy from one of Chassagne-Montrachet’s rising stars. Benoît Moreau, formerly of Domaine Bernard Moreau, farms the vineyard biodynamically and focuses on purity, energy and site expression. La Cardeuse is a rare red Premier Cru from Chassagne-Montrachet, known for its limestone-driven structure and elegance.
The nose shows dark cherry, wild berries, violet and subtle spice, while the palate is vibrant and finely structured with silky tannins, fresh acidity and layers of red fruit, earth and chalky minerality. The 2023 vintage brings excellent balance between concentration and finesse, finishing long and savoury.
