2018 Seville Estate Dr McMahon Shiraz

The 2018 Seville Estate Dr McMahon Shiraz is a flagship Yarra Valley Shiraz produced from the estate’s original 1972 plantings established by founder Dr Peter McMahon. Crafted in a refined cool-climate Australian style, the wine was hand-picked, 100% whole bunch fermented and matured in French oak puncheons, creating a layered and age-worthy Shiraz that balances savoury complexity with elegance and structure. 

On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine, textural tannins and vibrant acidity, delivering flavours of blackberry, dark cherry and red plum layered with black pepper, spice, smoked meat and subtle earthy notes. Whole bunch fermentation adds aromatic lift and savoury detail, while carefully integrated oak contributes depth without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long, structured and finely balanced, showing both power and restraint typical of premium cool-climate Shiraz.
