The 2022 Chalmers Bush Vine Negroamaro is a distinctive Murray Darling red inspired by the traditional bush-vine plantings of southern Italy. Grown on red Murray sand and limestone, it shows cherry blossom and dark berry fruit with dried orange peel, toasted star anise and subtle vanilla notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and finely structured, with fresh fruit, savoury spice and a firm but polished tannin grip. The fruit is hand-picked, whole-berry wild fermented with extended maceration, then basket pressed and bottled unfined and unfiltered, giving the wine texture and definition without losing freshness.
