NANNY GOAT
Nanny Goat Vineyard is a boutique winery from Central Otago, one of the world’s most celebrated regions for cool-climate Pinot Noir. Founded in 2004, the winery sources fruit from several premium vineyard sites across Central Otago, including Bannockburn, Gibbston Valley, and Queensberry.
The name “Nanny Goat” is inspired by the wild goats often seen navigating the steep and rugged mountain slopes of Central Otago, reflecting the dramatic landscape where the vineyards are located. These high-altitude sites benefit from warm sunny days, cool nights, and free-draining schist soils, ideal conditions for producing expressive Pinot Noir.
Nanny Goat Vineyard is best known for its elegant and fruit-driven Pinot Noir, which typically shows aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and plum, with subtle notes of spice, earth, and floral complexity. The winery also produces vibrant Chardonnay, Rosé, and Pinot Gris, highlighting the freshness and purity typical of Central Otago wines.
Today, Nanny Goat Vineyard wines are widely recognised for their balance, bright fruit character, and refined structure, representing the distinctive style of Central Otago Pinot Noir.
