The 2022 Mountadam High Eden Walter Shiraz is the estate’s flagship Shiraz, sourced from its oldest plantings in Blocks 12 and 40 at Mountadam’s elevated High Eden property. Deep crimson in colour, the nose shows red and dark cherry, blackberry and Doris plum with violet, sage, peppercorn, liquorice, dark chocolate, crushed stone and savoury spice.
On the palate, it is concentrated yet finely balanced, with juicy dark and red fruit supported by powdery, fine-grained tannins and a distinctive rocky mineral character. Savoury notes of pepper, herbs, roasted meat and liquorice add complexity, while the fruit remains pure and clearly defined through a persistent, structured finish.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Shiraz drinkers who enjoy refined Eden Valley reds with dark fruit, savoury complexity and firm but polished tannins.
