Louis Billard is one of Burgundy’s most exciting new-generation winemakers, producing terroir-driven Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from some of the region’s most prestigious appellations. Based in La Rochepot in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Billard represents the fifth generation of a Burgundian winemaking family, building upon a deep heritage while forging his own identity through a modern and highly regarded négociant-microdomaine project.

Before launching his own label, Louis Billard gained invaluable experience working with some of the world’s most respected estates, including Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), Christophe Roumier, and Australia's By Farr. These experiences helped shape his philosophy of precision viticulture, minimal intervention, and terroir expression.

Louis Billard sources fruit from exceptional vineyard sites across both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, producing wines from appellations including Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Volnay, Pommard, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, and Grand Cru vineyards such as Clos Vougeot and Bâtard-Montrachet.

The white wines are celebrated for their purity, texture, and mineral precision, displaying aromas of citrus, white peach, pear, flint, and subtle oak influence. The Pinot Noir wines combine red berry fruit, floral aromatics, spice, and silky tannins with remarkable energy and finesse. Billard’s use of whole-cluster fermentation and careful élevage contributes complexity while preserving freshness and vineyard character.

With his inaugural vintage released in 2022, Louis Billard has quickly attracted attention from collectors, sommeliers, and Burgundy enthusiasts worldwide. His limited-production wines are increasingly regarded as some of Burgundy’s most promising emerging releases, combining classical elegance with a contemporary approach to winemaking.
