A vibrant and energetic cool-climate Chardonnay from Pat Underwood, sourced from Dash Farms on the western slopes of Leanganook (Mt Alexander). Made from multiple harvest passes and fermented across stainless steel and old oak, the wine balances generosity with freshness and mineral tension. The nose shows white peach, grapefruit and Meyer lemon alongside soft white flowers, fennel, almond and subtle honeyed notes. There’s a bright granite-driven mineral freshness and lightly savoury complexity throughout.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with juicy citrus fruit, lively acidity and gentle lees texture. Fresh, slinky and highly drinkable, with a fine mineral finish balancing the wine’s slightly riper 2025 fruit profile beautifully.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A seriously enjoyable modern Victorian Chardonnay - bright, textural and easy to drink without losing detail or personality. More relaxed and energetic than heavily worked Chardonnay styles, making it perfect for casual drinking with seafood, roast chicken or sunny afternoon lunches. Drink now through 2031+.
