Laurent Chardigny is a respected Burgundian winemaker whose eponymous label showcases elegant, terroir-driven wines from the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy. Working alongside Domaine de Rochebin in the village of Azé since 2008, Laurent Chardigny has become known for producing exceptional value Burgundy through sustainable viticulture and a minimalist approach in the winery. The vineyards are situated around Azé in the heart of the Mâconnais, at approximately 400 metres above sea level on limestone and clay soils with predominantly east- and south-facing slopes. These cool, elevated sites provide ideal growing conditions for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly while preserving vibrant acidity, delicate aromatics, and a strong sense of place. Sustainable farming practices have been implemented throughout the vineyards to maintain healthy soils and long-term vineyard health.

Laurent Chardigny is best known for Bourgogne Chardonnay, Bourgogne Pinot Noir, and selected Mâconnais appellations. The Chardonnay is fermented without oak, resulting in a bright, mineral-driven style with notes of citrus, white peach, green apple, and fresh flowers. Pinot Noir offers aromas of cherry, raspberry, plum, subtle spice, and gentle forest-floor complexity, supported by fine tannins and lively freshness that make it an excellent introduction to modern Burgundy.

Winemaking is deliberately restrained to preserve vineyard character. Fruit is handled gently, fermentation takes place primarily in concrete tanks, and the wines see little or no oak influence under the Laurent Chardigny label. This minimalist philosophy produces wines that are clean, expressive, and transparent, allowing the distinctive limestone terroir of the Mâconnais to shine through in every vintage.
