The winery's origins lie in Castagnole delle Lanze between Barbaresco and Asti, where the family initially focused on Moscato before expanding into red wine production. Today, La Spinetta farms prestigious vineyard holdings across Barbaresco, Barolo, and Tuscany, producing some of Italy’s most sought-after wines.

La Spinetta is particularly renowned for its Barbaresco and Barolo wines crafted from Nebbiolo. The wines typically display aromas of rose petal, red cherry, raspberry, liquorice, tar, spice, and earthy complexity.
