Winemaking at Kistler remains remarkably traditional. Chardonnay is fermented entirely with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels and undergoes full malolactic fermentation before extended ageing on lees, creating the winery's signature texture and complexity. Pinot Noir is hand harvested, gently fermented in small lots, and matured in carefully selected French oak, with every decision focused on preserving vineyard character. The winery avoids unnecessary intervention, allowing each site to speak with clarity and authenticity.
