The estate vineyard spans approximately 89 hectares on the western edge of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, where elevations ranging from 120 to over 240 metres provide a diversity of aspects and microclimates. Ancient marine sedimentary soils, together with the cooling influence of Pacific Ocean breezes flowing through the Coast Range, create ideal conditions for slow ripening, allowing the fruit to develop remarkable concentration while retaining vibrant natural acidity and aromatic complexity.
Gran Moraine is best known for its estate Pinot Noir and estate Chardonnay, alongside a selection of limited-production single-vineyard and sparkling wines. Pinot Noir displays vibrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, rose petals, forest floor, and baking spice with silky tannins and refined structure. Chardonnay offers citrus, white peach, nectarine, hazelnut, flint, and subtle French oak, delivering precision, minerality, and impressive ageing potential that have become hallmarks of the estate.
Sustainability is central to Gran Moraine's philosophy. The vineyards are certified under LIVE Certified Sustainable and Salmon-Safe programmes, reflecting the winery's commitment to responsible farming and environmental stewardship. Fruit is hand harvested, carefully sorted, and vinified with minimal intervention, while thoughtful use of French oak enhances texture without overshadowing the purity of the vineyard.
