Fixin is a historic wine appellation located in the northern Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, known for producing structured and terroir-driven Pinot Noir wines with depth, freshness, and aging potential. Situated between Marsannay and Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin offers wines that combine the strength of northern Burgundy with elegance and regional authenticity.

The vineyards benefit from Burgundy’s cool continental climate and limestone-rich soils, creating ideal conditions for Pinot Noir with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and aromatic complexity. The appellation includes several Premier Cru vineyard sites that contribute additional concentration and structure to the wines.

Fixin red wines are typically medium to full-bodied and display flavors of red cherry, blackberry, violet, spice, forest floor, and earthy mineral notes supported by firm yet refined tannins. Compared to neighboring Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin wines are often slightly more rustic and powerful in youth while still capable of excellent development with age.

Although smaller and less internationally famous than some nearby appellations, Fixin has become increasingly appreciated by Burgundy enthusiasts for its authenticity, value, and classic Côte de Nuits character.
