Emmalene is a boutique Adelaide Hills wine label born from the collaboration of two local families whose lives have been intertwined for generations. The Bartsch family, long recognised for growing premium grapes in the Adelaide Hills, partners with acclaimed winemaker Mark Bulman and the Bulman family to craft wines that faithfully express the region's exceptional cool-climate vineyards. The name "Emmalene" appears in both family histories, symbolising the shared heritage and friendship behind every bottle.

All Emmalene wines are sourced exclusively from four family-owned vineyard sites in Echunga, Lenswood, Lobethal, and Forreston within the Adelaide Hills. These elevated vineyards enjoy cool temperatures, significant diurnal variation, and diverse soils that promote slow ripening, vibrant natural acidity, and refined aromatics. The result is a collection of wines that capture the freshness and elegance for which the Adelaide Hills has become internationally renowned.

The range focuses on classic cool-climate varieties including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sparkling Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir offers bright cherry, wild strawberry, subtle spice, and silky tannins, while Chardonnay balances citrus, stone fruit, and gentle texture with refreshing acidity. Pinot Gris is made with partial skin contact to add complexity and texture, Sauvignon Blanc delivers vibrant tropical and citrus notes, and the Sparkling Pinot Noir showcases lively red berry fruit with a crisp, dry finish.

Sustainability is central to the Emmalene philosophy. All vineyards are certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia and are farmed using carbon-neutral practices, including solar energy, organic compost, permanent cover crops, and winter grazing. In the winery, minimal additions and gentle handling allow the fruit to speak for itself, while every wine is certified vegan friendly.
