Elanto Vineyard is one of Australia’s most exciting new wine estates, located in Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Founded by renowned vigneron Sandro Mosele and backed by Elizabeth and Tony Todaro, Elanto has quickly gained national recognition for its uncompromising focus on vineyard quality and terroir expression. The estate was named Best New Winery in the 2026 Halliday Wine Companion Awards.

Established in 2018, Elanto is home to one of Australia’s largest and most ambitious high-density vineyards, planted exclusively to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With more than 11,000 vines per hectare—around four times the density of a typical Australian vineyard—the project draws inspiration from the great vineyards of Burgundy and is designed to maximise site expression and fruit concentration.

The vineyard benefits from the cool maritime climate of the Mornington Peninsula, with views across Western Port Bay and diverse geological formations that have been carefully mapped into individual vineyard parcels. This meticulous approach allows Elanto to produce wines with exceptional precision, complexity, and regional character.

Elanto Vineyard is particularly known for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Chardonnays display citrus, white peach, mineral tension, and remarkable purity, while the Pinot Noirs offer red cherry, raspberry, spice, floral notes, and refined tannins. The winemaking philosophy focuses on minimal intervention and vineyard expression, resulting in wines that combine power, elegance, and age-worthiness.
