Domaine Font de Michelle is a respected family-owned estate located in the heart of the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in France’s Southern Rhône Valley. Managed by the Gonnet family, whose winemaking roots in the region date back several generations, the estate is celebrated for producing wines that combine power, elegance, and a strong sense of terroir.
The domaine farms vineyards across some of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s most sought-after sites, characterised by the region’s iconic galets roulés (rounded stones), along with clay, limestone, and sandy soils. These diverse terroirs, combined with abundant Mediterranean sunshine and the cooling influence of the Mistral wind, create ideal conditions for cultivating traditional Rhône grape varieties.
Domaine Font de Michelle is best known for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape red wines, crafted primarily from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other authorised Rhône varieties. The wines typically display aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum, liquorice, garrigue, pepper, and baking spices.
