DOMAINE DES PERDRIX

Domaine des Perdrix is a distinguished estate located in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, renowned for its exceptional Pinot Noir wines. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the domaine owns some of the most enviable parcels across village and premier cru appellations, and also produces a small quantity of white Burgundy from Chardonnay. Since 1996, the estate has been owned and managed by the Devillard family, a prominent Burgundian family who also oversee Château de Chamirey in Mercurey, Domaine de la Ferté, and Domaine de la Garenne. Under their direction, Domaine des Perdrix has gained a strong reputation for combining modern precision with the authentic expression of Burgundian terroir.

The estate spans approximately 12 hectares of vineyards, including some of the most respected sites in the region. Among them, the Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru “Aux Perdrix” stands out as the domaine’s flagship wine and is almost a monopole, admired for its depth, balance, and silky texture. Other notable holdings include parcels in Vosne-Romanée, Echézeaux Grand Cru, and Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Terres Blanches, each reflecting the diversity and nuance of Côte de Nuits terroirs.

In the cellar, Domaine des Perdrix follows a philosophy of minimal intervention, emphasizing careful hand-harvesting, gentle extraction, and aging in French oak barrels, typically with 30–50% new oak for the top cuvées. This meticulous approach results in wines that achieve a harmonious balance between structure, aromatic precision, and elegance, with remarkable potential for aging. Today, Domaine des Perdrix stands as one of the benchmark producers of Nuits-Saint-Georges, celebrated for crafting wines that capture the refined yet powerful character of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits.
