Domaine Delaporte is one of the Loire Valley's benchmark producers, renowned for crafting exceptional Sancerre that reflects the diversity and precision of this iconic appellation. Established in the village of Chavignol, the family estate has been producing wine for generations and is internationally recognised for its meticulous vineyard management, sustainable philosophy, and terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
Located in the eastern Loire Valley, Domaine Delaporte farms vineyards across some of Sancerre's finest terroirs, including the celebrated villages of Chavignol and Amigny. The estate's parcels encompass the region's three classic soil types—Silex (flint), Caillottes (limestone pebbles), and Terres Blanches (Kimmeridgian clay-limestone)—allowing each wine to express the unique character of its origin.
Domaine Delaporte is best known for its Sancerre Blanc, produced exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc. The wines display vibrant aromas of lime, lemon, grapefruit, gooseberry, elderflower, white peach, and fresh herbs, supported by striking mineral precision and lively acidity. The flint-rich vineyards contribute smoky, gunflint notes, while limestone parcels bring elegance, freshness, and remarkable finesse. The estate also produces refined Sancerre Rouge and Rosé from Pinot Noir, offering aromas of red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, rose petals, and subtle spice with silky tannins and vibrant freshness.
The winery follows a philosophy centred on sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention. Vineyard work prioritises healthy soils, biodiversity, and low yields, while grapes are hand harvested and vinified with gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation, and careful lees ageing. Every decision is aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit and the identity of each vineyard parcel.
