DOMAINE DE L'ARLOT

Domaine de l'Arlot is one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates, celebrated for producing elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of the Côte de Nuits' most distinguished vineyards. Located in Prémeaux-Prissey, just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, the domaine traces its origins to the late 18th century and has become internationally recognised for its historic monopole vineyards, biodynamic farming, and refined winemaking philosophy.

The estate farms approximately 15 hectares of vineyards across some of Burgundy's most sought-after appellations, including Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Clos de l'Arlot, Clos des Forêts Saint Georges, Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots Premier Cru, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru. Two of its most famous vineyards, Clos de l'Arlot and Clos des Forêts Saint Georges, are historic monopoles entirely owned by the domaine, allowing complete control over every aspect of vineyard management and winemaking.

The vineyards are planted on classic limestone and clay soils that define the Côte de Nuits, where Burgundy's cool continental climate encourages slow ripening and exceptional aromatic complexity. Pinot Noir develops remarkable finesse, structure, and mineral precision, while the estate's Chardonnay offers purity, tension, and outstanding ageing potential.

Domaine de l'Arlot is renowned for its commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. The vineyards have been farmed organically for many years before adopting biodynamic practices, with every decision focused on improving soil health, encouraging biodiversity, and allowing each vineyard to express its unique terroir. Hand harvesting, meticulous fruit selection, indigenous yeast fermentation, partial whole-bunch fermentation where appropriate, and restrained French oak maturation preserve the elegance and authenticity of every wine.

The Pinot Noir wines display aromas of red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, rose petals, forest floor, spice, and subtle earthy complexity. They combine silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and exceptional mineral tension with remarkable ageing potential. The rare white wines offer citrus, white peach, pear, hazelnut, flint, and chalky minerality, showcasing the same precision and refinement that define the estate's reds.
