CRISTOM
Cristom Vineyards is one of the most acclaimed and pioneering wineries in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, celebrated for producing elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir that bridges the style gap between Old World finesse and New World purity. Founded in 1992 by Paul Gerrie, the estate is located in the Eola–Amity Hills AVA, an area known for its volcanic soils and cool marine breezes from the Van Duzer Corridor — ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir of great aromatic complexity and natural acidity.
The name Cristom combines the names of Paul Gerrie’s children, Christine and Tom, reflecting the family’s personal commitment to the estate. From the beginning, Cristom’s philosophy has been rooted in respect for the land, with sustainable and biodynamic farming practices, minimal intervention, and traditional Burgundian winemaking methods.
Winemaker Tom Gerrie (Paul’s son) continues this legacy today, crafting wines that emphasize balance, site expression, and ageworthiness. The vineyard estate spans over 90 acres, primarily planted to Pinot Noir, with smaller parcels of Chardonnay, Syrah, and Viognier. Cristom produces a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, a benchmark blend representing the house style — graceful, pure, and consistently excellent.
Cristom’s wines are often described as “Burgundian in spirit, Oregonian in soul” — expressive of place, guided by nature, and built for longevity. The estate stands as a reference point for what the Willamette Valley can achieve at its very best.
