Craggy Range is one of New Zealand’s most respected family-owned wineries, founded in 1998 by Terry and Mary Peabody with the ambition of creating world-class wines that express the unique terroir of New Zealand. The estate is located beneath the dramatic Te Mata Peak in Hawke’s Bay, one of the country’s most prestigious wine regions.

From the beginning, the winery focused on planting vineyards in exceptional sites rather than following existing regional traditions. This pioneering philosophy helped establish Craggy Range as a benchmark producer of single-vineyard wines, showcasing the distinctive character of regions such as Hawke’s Bay and Martinborough.

Today, Craggy Range farms estate vineyards across multiple regions, including the renowned Te Muna Road Vineyard in Martinborough, celebrated for elegant Pinot Noir and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc. The winery’s portfolio spans premium single-vineyard releases, estate wines, and limited editions, all crafted with a strong commitment to sustainability, precision viticulture, and long-term stewardship of the land.

A defining element of the estate is its 1,000-year family trust, established to ensure that the winery can never be sold and will remain dedicated to producing exceptional wines for generations.

Today, Craggy Range stands among the most internationally recognised producers from New Zealand, known for wines that combine New World purity with Old World structure, particularly in Hawke’s Bay Syrah, Bordeaux-style blends, Chardonnay, and Martinborough Pinot Noir.
