Founded by the legendary Charles Hours near the village of Monein, the estate played a pivotal role in transforming Jurançon's reputation by demonstrating the extraordinary potential of its indigenous grape varieties. Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the estate enjoys a unique microclimate shaped by Atlantic influences and the warm, dry foehn winds descending from the mountains during autumn. These conditions allow grapes to ripen slowly while maintaining exceptional natural acidity, producing wines with remarkable freshness, aromatic intensity, and outstanding ageing potential.

Clos Uroulat specialises in Jurançon Sec and late-harvest Jurançon made from the region's native varieties, primarily Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. Petit Manseng delivers concentrated aromas of apricot, pineapple, mango, honey, citrus peel, and exotic spice while retaining vibrant acidity, making it ideal for both dry and sweet wines. Gros Manseng contributes freshness, citrus character, floral aromas, and structure, adding elegance and balance to the estate's blends.

The estate's flagship dry wine, Cuvée Marie, is regarded as one of the benchmark wines of Jurançon Sec. It offers layers of citrus, white peach, pineapple, white flowers, wet stone, and subtle honeyed complexity, supported by remarkable mineral tension and a long, precise finish.
