CHRISTOPHE ET FILS
Domaine Christophe et Fils is a small, family-run winery located in Fyé, a village just across the Serein River from the town of Chablis, in the heart of Burgundy, France. The estate is managed by Sébastien Christophe, who oversees vineyards that include Village, Premier Cru, and select Grand Cru sites. Despite being a relatively young domaine, Christophe et Fils has quickly gained recognition for producing elegant, terroir-driven Chablis wines that reflect purity, freshness, and precision.
Sébastien Christophe follows a philosophy of minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar, with great respect for biodiversity and soil health. The wines are fermented with native yeasts, allowing the natural character of each site to shine through. Depending on the cuvée, aging takes place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and neutral oak barrels, striking a balance between texture and minerality without masking the fruit.
The range typically includes Petit Chablis, Chablis Village, and several Chablis Premier Crus such as Montée de Tonnerre. The Petit Chablis is crisp and aromatic, showing notes of lime blossom and green apple. The Village-level Chablis expresses the classic flinty, saline, and citrus-driven profile that defines the appellation, while the Premier Crus display more complexity and depth, with flavors of ripe stone fruit, seashell, and chalky minerality. A special Vieilles Vignes cuvée, made from old vines, offers added richness and concentration while retaining the purity of Chablis terroir.
Domaine Christophe et Fils continues to attract attention among wine enthusiasts and critics alike for its precise, mineral-driven Chardonnays that showcase the timeless character of Chablis with modern clarity and finesse.
