The 2024 MMAD Vineyard Chenin Blanc Magnum is an old-vine Chenin Blanc from Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale, with the vineyard’s oldest Chenin vines planted in 1964. The nose is expressive and detailed, showing white jasmine, grapefruit and citrus peel with red apple, green pear, wet stone and subtle sea-spray notes, reflecting the site’s Maslin sands, ironstone and cooling coastal influence.
On the palate, it is concentrated and finely textured with crisp acidity, citrus and orchard fruit supported by a mineral, saline edge. A combination of crushed and whole-bunch pressed fruit is fermented in concrete and large-format oak before maturation in old French puncheons, building texture while retaining freshness. The finish is long, energetic and precise, with excellent depth and structure.
