CHATEAU BASTOR LAMONTAGNE

Château Bastor-Lamontagne is a historic wine estate in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux (located in Preignac, Gironde, France), known primarily for its elegant sweet white wines made in the classic Sauternes style.

The château dates back to the 18th century, and its vineyards extend over large contiguous blocks of sandy-gravel and clay-limestone soils typical of the region. The vine plantings are dominated by Sémillon, with significant Sauvignon Blanc and sometimes a small portion of Sauvignon Gris/Muscadelle, which together give the wines their characteristic richness, freshness, and aromatic complexity.

The estate produces its flagship Sauternes sweet wine, recognised for its balanced sweetness, citrus and apricot notes, honeyed complexity, and good acidity — qualities that make it enjoyable both young and with some age. Many recent vintages have received solid critical praise for their freshness and structure.

Overall, Château Bastor-Lamontagne represents a blend of historic Bordeaux terroir, organic farming, and classic Sauternes sweetness and complexity, making it a noteworthy producer within the region.
