2025 Chalmers Rosato

The 2025 Chalmers Rosato is a vibrant Heathcote rosé crafted entirely from Aglianico, a southern Italian variety that has become a signature of the Chalmers range. Sourced from the winery's elevated Top Block vineyard, it displays lifted aromas of pomegranate, blood orange and wild red berries, alongside hints of raspberry leaf, delicate spice and a subtle saline character. Wild fermentation in seasoned French oak barrels adds texture and complexity while preserving freshness and varietal purity. 

On the palate, it is dry and finely textured, with bright acidity and flavours of cranberry, cherry and blood orange supported by gentle savoury notes and a mineral edge. Time spent on fine lees contributes a smooth, layered mouthfeel, while the natural structure of Aglianico gives the wine impressive length and balance. The finish is crisp, refreshing and persistent, with plenty of energy and detail.

Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is a fantastic rosé for those who enjoy a more savoury, textural style rather than overtly fruity expressions. Perfect for warm-weather dining and highly versatile at the table, it is best enjoyed over the next 2–4 years.
