2019 Stephane Aladame Montagny Premier Cru Les Coeres

Noticeable but not really invasive wood surrounds the aromas of poached apple and much more floral influence. There is notably better mid-palate density to the medium-bodied flavors as the old vines are clearly in evidence, and particularly so on the powerful, serious and lingering finale. This is not a wine of finesse, but I admire the concentration and overall sense of balance.
