The 2024 Wittmann Morstein Riesling Grosses Gewächs is a dry, single-vineyard Riesling from one of Westhofen’s most important sites in Rheinhessen. Grown on heavy clay-marl over limestone at 180–240 metres elevation, it shows ripe yellow fruit, lemon zest and citrus with fresh herbs, subtle spice and a pronounced chalky mineral character.
On the palate, it is concentrated and tightly structured, with powerful acidity driving ripe citrus and yellow fruit. Saline notes, limestone minerality and herbal freshness add complexity, while the texture remains refined despite the wine’s depth. The finish is exceptionally long, focused and mineral-driven, with the structure for extended bottle development.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Riesling drinkers looking for a serious, cellar-worthy German dry white with concentration, acidity and pronounced mineral structure. Best given some bottle age, with a suggested drinking window from around 2028 into the late 2030s. Pair with grilled snapper, roast chicken, pork, richer seafood dishes or mature cheeses.
