STARGAZER
Stargazer is a boutique, premium winery located in the Tea Tree sub-region at the northern end of the Coal River Valley, Tasmania. The venture is the creation of winemaker Samantha (Sam) Connew, who in 2012 released her first wines under the Stargazer label after a career working in Australia, Europe, and the U.S. Formerly head winemaker at Wirra Wirra in McLaren Vale, Sam established Stargazer as her own estate, acquiring what is known as the Palisander Vineyard in 2016.
Stargazer produces small, high-quality batches of wines. Key varietals & blends include Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and also blends like Tupelo (a white blend) and Rada (a red blend combining Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir). The Chardonnay and Riesling are often highlighted as standout wines — crisp, expressive, and site-reflective. The wines frequently show tension, minerality, defined acidity, and complexity.
