SENA

Seña is a prestigious Chilean red wine, renowned for its quality and significance in the global wine arena. Established in 1995 as a collaboration between Eduardo Chadwick of Viña Errázuriz and American vintner Robert Mondavi, Seña was conceived to showcase Chile’s potential to produce world-class wines . 

The name “Seña,” meaning “sign” in Spanish, symbolizes the founders’ vision to create a wine that embodies the spirit and terroir of Chile. Located in the Aconcagua Valley, approximately 40 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate influenced by ocean breezes and diverse soils, contributing to the wine’s complexity and elegance . 

Seña is produced from a blend of Bordeaux grape varieties, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Carménère, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and occasionally Cabernet Franc. The vineyard practices biodynamic farming, emphasizing harmony with nature and sustainability. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks and is aged in French oak barrels, enhancing its structure and aging potential .

Seña is celebrated for its deep ruby color and complex aroma profile, featuring notes of black fruits like blackberry and blackcurrant, complemented by hints of oak, tobacco, and chocolate. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied experience with well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, elegant finish . 

Since its inception, Seña has garnered international acclaim, often being compared to top-tier Bordeaux wines. It has consistently received high scores from wine critics and has been featured in prestigious tastings, solidifying its status as one of Chile’s iconic wines.
