LANGMEIL
Langmeil Winery, located in the heart of South Australia’s Barossa Valley, is one of the region’s most storied and respected family-owned wineries. Its origins date back to 1842, when German settler Christian Auricht founded the Langmeil trading village. Just a year later, in 1843, Auricht planted a Shiraz vineyard that remains at the core of the winery’s identity today. Known as The Freedom 1843, this 3.5-acre vineyard is widely believed to be the world’s oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard, and it continues to produce fruit of remarkable depth and complexity.
