Situated on the granite foothills of Beechworth at elevations of around 400 metres, the estate benefits from a cool climate, long growing season, and free-draining granite soils. These conditions allow grapes to ripen slowly while retaining natural acidity, aromatic complexity, and exceptional balance, creating wines of remarkable precision and longevity.

Giaconda is internationally renowned for its Chardonnay, widely regarded as one of Australia's greatest white wines. Produced using whole-bunch pressing, wild yeast fermentation, and maturation in French oak, the wine displays extraordinary layers of citrus, white peach, hazelnut, flint, struck match, and mineral complexity. Combining richness with remarkable tension and precision, Giaconda Chardonnay is celebrated for its ability to age gracefully over decades.

The estate also produces outstanding Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Roussanne, Viognier, and Nebbiolo. The Shiraz reflects the cooler style of Beechworth, offering aromas of blackberry, plum, pepper, violet, olive, and spice with refined tannins and vibrant acidity. Pinot Noir is elegant and perfumed, while the white Rhône varieties demonstrate exceptional texture and complexity.

Giaconda follows a philosophy of meticulous vineyard management and minimal intervention in the winery. Fruit is hand harvested, naturally fermented, and handled with great care to preserve purity and faithfully express the unique character of the vineyard. Every decision is guided by a commitment to site expression rather than stylistic influence.

Following Rick Kinzbrunner's retirement, the estate continues under the leadership of his son Nathan Kinzbrunner, maintaining the same uncompromising standards that have made Giaconda one of Australia's most revered wineries.
