The 2023 Egon Müller Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Kabinett is an exceptional Riesling Kabinett from the Braune Kupp monopole in Wiltingen in Germany's Saar, produced by Egon Müller under the historic Le Gallais label. Braune Kupp is a warmer site than the legendary Scharzhofberg, with deeper, more iron-rich soils alongside the characteristic slate of the Saar, giving the wines slightly greater fruit concentration and generosity while retaining remarkable freshness and mineral precision. Egon Müller cultivates approximately four hectares within this monopole, around half of which are leased, and importantly, some of the Riesling vines date back to the late 19th century, with portions subsequently renewed in 1994 and 2015. The 2023 therefore combines an extraordinary old-vine heritage with one of the Saar's most distinctive terroirs.
