The 2022 Riesling Scharzhofberger Auslese is still closed on the nose. It takes a lot of swirling to awaken passionfruit and citrus hints. The palate is rich and concentrated with grapefruit-edged peach preserve, almost peppery with its grapefruit spice. Intense yet balanced, fresh, and harmonious. Citrus savor, tart and aromatic, highlights the essential and inherent finesse. Nothing is too much, yet there is baffling intensity. Beautiful. Grapefruit and peach flavors shine on the long finish.
