DOMAINE MARC-ANTONIN BLAIN

Domaine Marc‑Antonin Blain is a boutique estate nestled in the heart of Chassagne‑Montrachet on Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Operated by Marc‑Antonin Blain—son of Jean‑Marc and Claudine and grandson of Jacques Gagnard—he officially launched the Domaine around 2009 after tending family vineyards for generations  . The estate covers approximately 1.16 hectares, encompassing four appellations including coveted parcels of Bâtard‑Montrachet Grand Cru.

Marc‑Antonin’s background includes studies in Beaune and formative vintages abroad in Australia and New Zealand, experiences which injected a sense of passion and clarity into his winemaking philosophy  . At home, under the guidance of his grandfather, he finely balances tradition and restraint—employing limited new oak in vinification to ensure spicy oak notes never dominate.

The Domaine specializes in both white and red Burgundy from its intimate holdings. Among its flagship wines are Bâtard‑Montrachet Grand Cru and Chassagne‑Montrachet Premier Cru ‘Morgeot’, available in both Blanc and Rouge. Whites are crafted with finesse and subtle minerality, with vintages like the 2022 Blanc offering lively citrus, pear, and floral notes with elegant oak restraint  . The estate also produces village-level Chassagne‑Montrachet and Criots‑Bâtard‑Montrachet Grand Cru, all reflecting terroir purity and a Burgundian sense of place.
