DOMAINE FABIEN COCHE

Domaine Fabien Coche, established in 1940 and formerly known as Domaine Coche-Bizouard, is a family-owned winery located in Meursault, Côte d’Or, Burgundy, France. Spanning 12 hectares, the estate has vineyards in prestigious appellations, including Meursault, Pommard, Auxey-Duresses, Monthélie, Saint-Romain, Saint-Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet. Fabien Coche, a fourth-generation vigneron, assumed leadership of the domaine in 2005. He is a first cousin of Jean-François Coche-Dury, and the two domaines shared similar labels until Fabien introduced his own distinctive branding. Under his stewardship, the estate transitioned to organic farming practices in 1998 and formally sought organic certification beginning with the 2020 harvest.

The domaine produces a diverse portfolio of wines, including Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Chardonnay, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Combes, Meursault Blanc, Meursault Les Chevalières, Meursault-Goutte D’Or 1er Cru, Meursault-Perrières 1er Cru, Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Auxey-Duresses Rouge, Meursault Rouge, and Pommard Vieilles Vignes. Fabien’s winemaking style emphasizes purity and balance, with minimal use of new oak (around 25%) and a preference for larger format barrels. His wines are offering a harmonious balance of acidity and purity without excessive sulfur dioxide or overly luxurious textures.
