Domaine Armand Rousseau is one of the most prestigious and historic wine estates in Burgundy, France. Located in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, the domaine is globally renowned for its exceptional Pinot Noir wines. Founded in the early 20th century by Armand Rousseau, the estate was a trailblazer in Burgundy, being among the first to bottle wines under its own label in the 1930s—long before this became common practice. Over time, Rousseau strategically acquired prime vineyard sites, solidifying the estate’s reputation as a guardian of some of Burgundy’s most treasured terroirs.

The domaine remains a family-run operation, currently led by Eric Rousseau, Armand’s grandson, with the next generation represented by his daughter, Cyrielle Rousseau. The family is committed to traditional Burgundian viticulture and winemaking methods, emphasizing minimal intervention and deep respect for the vineyard. The estate owns approximately 15 hectares of vineyards, much of which lies in prestigious Grand Cru and Premier Cru appellations. These include legendary Grand Cru vineyards such as Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Clos de la Roche, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, and Charmes-Chambertin, as well as the exceptional Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques, widely considered Grand Cru in quality.

Domaine Armand Rousseau is revered for its ability to produce wines of grace, depth, and longevity, and it is often cited as a benchmark for quality in Burgundy. Due to limited production and immense global demand, Rousseau wines are highly collectible and frequently command premium prices on the secondary market. They are a staple of top-tier wine auctions and elite wine lists around the world.
