BOUCHARD PERE AND FILS

Founded in 1731, Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest and most storied wine estates in Burgundy. Based in Beaune, the domaine has been a cornerstone of the region’s wine history for nearly three centuries, combining deep-rooted tradition with a modern commitment to quality and sustainability. Today, it is recognized as one of Burgundy’s most important producers, with holdings in many of the region’s most esteemed appellations.

The estate owns over 130 hectares of vineyards, including an impressive 12 hectares of Grands Crus and 74 hectares of Premiers Crus, making it one of the largest landholders in the Côte d’Or. Notably, Bouchard Père & Fils owns prized plots in Montrachet, Chambertin, Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Volnay Caillerets, and Beaune Grèves Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus—a monopole (sole ownership) vineyard that is legendary among Burgundy connoisseurs.

Over the last few decades, the domaine has undergone a significant renaissance. Since its acquisition by the Henriot family in 1995, major investments have been made in vineyard management, vinification techniques, and cellar facilities. Bouchard now combines organic and sustainable farming with precise, terroir-expressive winemaking. Grapes are hand-harvested, sorted meticulously, and fermented with care to preserve the identity of each climat.

Despite its scale, Bouchard Père & Fils maintains a domaine-level attention to detail, crafting both reds and whites that express the elegance, complexity, and aging potential for which Burgundy is revered. Whether you’re tasting a Bourgogne-level wine or a Grand Cru, the hallmark of Bouchard’s style is balance: poised, refined wines with both freshness and depth.
