Baden is Germany’s southernmost and warmest wine region, stretching over 400 kilometres along the eastern bank of the Rhine River from Heidelberg to Lake Constance. Baden is best known for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder), and Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder). Pinot Noir wines typically display aromas of red cherry, blackberry, raspberry, spice, and earthy mineral notes, supported by refined tannins and impressive ageing potential. Chardonnay combines citrus, stone fruit, flint, and elegant texture, while Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris offer freshness, richness, and versatility.

The region is home to some of Germany’s most prestigious producers, including Bernhard Huber, Franz Keller, Salwey, Dr. Heger, and Enderle & Moll. These wineries have helped elevate Baden’s reputation internationally, particularly for wines that combine German precision with Burgundian elegance.
