CLOS SAINT JEAN

Clos Saint Jean is a renowned winery located in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of France’s Rhône Valley. Established in 1900 by Edmund Tacussel, the estate has been family-owned for generations and is currently managed by brothers Vincent and Pascal Maurel.  The vineyard spans 41 hectares, with significant parcels situated on the esteemed La Crau plateau, known for its optimal terroir for grape cultivation.

Clos Saint Jean is celebrated for producing high-quality wines that exemplify the rich and intense characteristics typical of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their portfolio includes both red and white wines, with the reds primarily composed of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Vaccarèse, and Muscardin. These wines often exhibit concentrated dark fruit flavors, complemented by notes of bitter cherry, finely crushed mineral accents, and refined tannins. Notably, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes received a 95-point rating from Wine Spectator, highlighting its poise and elegance.
