LUCIEN LE MOINE
Lucien Le Moine is a highly respected micro-négociant based in Beaune, Burgundy, founded in 1999 by Mounir Saouma and his wife, Rotem Brakin. With a philosophy centered around precision and purity, they focus exclusively on producing small quantities of Premier and Grand Cru wines, often just one to three barrels per vineyard, resulting in an annual output of only around 100 barrels. This ultra-limited production allows them to manage every detail meticulously, reflecting their commitment to quality and terroir expression.
Lucien Le Moine specializes in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of Burgundy’s most revered vineyards, including Les Amoureuses, Grands-Échezeaux, Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, and Les Bouchères. Their wines have attracted critical acclaim for their depth, perfume, and finesse. Antonio Galloni and other critics have praised their work as producing some of the most compelling wines in Burgundy, with descriptors such as “perfumed” and “downright sexy” reflecting their expressive style.
Over the years, Lucien Le Moine has become one of the most exciting and sought-after producers in the region. Their wines frequently receive top-tier scores, such as the 2016 Montrachet Grand Cru which earned 98 points. Due to their extremely limited availability and consistent quality, the wines are considered highly collectible and are often featured in auctions and wine investment portfolios.
