Bright ruby with a youthful crimson hue, the 2025 Crimson opens with an expressive bouquet of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry and pomegranate, intertwined with fragrant rose petals and subtle floral lift. Layers of baking spices, cardamom, clove and a hint of orange zest emerge with air, while delicate savoury nuances of dried herbs, forest floor and gentle smoky spice add depth without overshadowing the fruit. The aromatics are fresh, precise and unmistakably Martinborough in character.
The palate is silky and medium-bodied, balancing juicy red berry fruit with vibrant acidity and finely woven tannins. Flavours of raspberry compote, cranberry and Morello cherry are complemented by hints of rhubarb, tea leaf, subtle spice and a whisper of earthy minerality. The wine finishes long, fresh and savoury, with excellent purity and energy, making it both immediately approachable and capable of developing further over the next 5–8 years.
