The 2023 Domaine Marc Sorrel Hermitage Rouge Magnum (1500ml) is a classic Northern Rhône Syrah showing blackberry, black cherry and plum with violet, cracked pepper, smoked herbs and earthy spice.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with fresh acidity, firm tannins and layers of dark fruit, pepper and savoury mineral character. The finish is long, dry and persistent, while the magnum format offers excellent potential for gradual bottle development.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this magnum is an excellent choice for Rhône collectors seeking a structured Hermitage with depth and cellaring potential. Best enjoyed from 2029–2045. Pair with slow-roasted venison, beef cheek with rosemary, braised lamb shank or porcini and truffle risotto.
